An Introduction To Intentional Cooking

"More than just a meal"

When you work with any material of the Earth, be it clothing, water, mineral, your body, food or other plant stuff, etc., the Earth within the material responds toyour direction, whether this direction is given consciously or unconsciously. This "direction" is given by you energetically and represents the "intention" which you place into your co-creative relationship with the Earth to manifest something on the physical plane. What this means is that - whether you are consciously aware of it or not, and whether you consciously "intend" it or not - the Earth is interacting with you in your creative process and responds to your intentions and desires. Most people tend not to think about this aspect of their creative process or the fact that they are in a co-creative relationship with the Earth, even though they exist here on the Earth's physical plane in a body made of Earth material. Nevertheless, this is the way it is.

The vibrations of Self which are most easily "felt" by the Earth consciousness in the material you are working with are the vibrations of feelings which come from the aspect of Self we refer to as the emotional body. This is why, as has been known for some time now in the mass consciousness, that you "cook with your emotions," or to put it another way, whatever you are feeling when you are cooking, the vibrations of those feelings go into the food and are "eaten" and assimilated into your body. This affects your psyche and state of being along with all the other effects you are creating for Self in the moment. This is neither good or bad, it just is, and the more you become conscious of how Self creates Self, the more you begin to work with this process consciously and intentionally. The awareness that one cooks with emotion is a beginning point for intentional cooking.

So what is INTENTIONAL cooking? Simply put, it is the conscious awareness and use of your intention or purpose as you engage with your creative flow in the process of preparing food for eating. Now intention within Self exists at many different levels. We will consider here the most familiar levels: mental, emotional and physical. To cook with intention means that you consciously hold and focus on the specific intention all the while you are engaged in the process of preparing your meal - from deciding on what to make, to acquiring the food you will use, to actually preparing the dish and serving it. Intention can and does flow through all of this, because intention flows through YOU and is a part of you. On the mental level, that means thinking the intention with which you are working. On the emotional level, this means holding the feeling of the intention in your belly. On the physical level, this means moving, acting, cooking, and expressing in ways which are in alignment with the intention, however that may manifest for you.

Some intentions are simple, some are more complex. Whatever the intention may be you are working with, trust that your experience while you are cooking or preparing food intentionally works, and that neither you, nor the food, nor those who will partake of it are victims in any way as a result of your process.

There is no state of perfection in this flow - it is all a flow of learning, expressing, and experiencing Self as one chooses to.
